Miami Township Woman Sentenced to 21-26 Years in Prison for Killing Her Mother
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 19, 2025
Today, Clermont County Prosecutor Mark J. Tekulve announced that Anna Lynne Millette was sentenced by Judge Jason Nagel to 21 to 26 years in prison. In July of this year, Millette pled guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter and Felonious Assault, both with a Repeat Violent Offender Specification, for the killing of her mother, Joyce Millette.
On June 15th, 2024, the Defendant and her mother, Joyce Millette, were arguing. The Defendant began operating Joyce’s vehicle and started to drive away, but turned around, and attempted to strike Joyce with the vehicle. As her mother was attempting to flee, the Defendant pursued Joyce into the garage and crashed the vehicle into the back wall, pinning her mother, causing her death. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to remove the Defendant from the vehicle, at which time, she put the vehicle in reverse and fled. She struck officers with the side of her vehicle while fleeing.
During the sentencing hearing, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Lara Baron Allen noted that, although her family advocated for her, the State was requesting a 20 year sentence for the defendant in order to protect the public. Baron Allen also noted that this was not the first incident of violence that the defendant had committed and requested that Judge Nagel impose a consecutive sentence due to the serious nature of the offenses.
“This is a tragic case where no one wins. The Millette family has suffered an unimaginable tragedy, but it is our duty to protect the public and ensure that offenders are properly punished. While we sympathize with them, and understand their grief, we have a job to do. “- Mark J. Tekulve, Clermont Prosecuting Attorney.
